BBI's Engineering and Consulting Group is proud to announce the first in a series of technical reports. This report covers the state of Illinois, analyzing the potential for biomass combined heat and power facilities installed at corn-to-ethanol plants, within the context of state renewable portfolio standards and low carbon fuel standards. Currently, 33 states and the District of Columbia (5 of which are "goals") have Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) that mandate renewable energy generation. Installing ultra-efficient biomass CHP units helps meet those goals while reducing fossil fuel use and energy costs at the plants.
